Swing Demons performs Gypsy Swing music inspired by the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt and the guitar-driven jazz tradition that has flourished worldwide from his influential style. As a dynamic trio, we feature Brooklyn guitarists Warren Sirota and David Levitt playing handmade gypsy jazz acoustic guitars. Our repertoire swings from slow, smoky ballads to hot, smokin' burners, all delivered with virtuosic flair that captivates audiences.

Our Story
The 12-year musical partnership between guitarists Dave Levitt and Warren Sirota is at the heart of Swing Demons. The pair met while each was fairly new to the exciting area of gypsy swing, at the weekly jam sessions at the famous Bistro Fada in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Since they live fairly close to each other in Brooklyn, they quickly became regular practice buddies, spurring each other on to new heights and developing really tight duo skills in the process.
Swing Demons has taken several forms since it's inception in 2018 or so. During the pandemic, the group (then a trio featuring violinist Rich Barbera) purchased an outdoor space heater and played live music safely to the delight of passers-by in their NYC neighborhoods.
Since then, the group has engaged in peformances throughout the greater NYC area, including the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival, the Hudson Valley Film Festival, the Liberty House Event Venue and others. Sirota has been regularly teaching other gypsy jazz musicians at the famous Django In June camps in Northhampton, MA. The group has evolved to Warren and Dave hosting various guest artists, depending upon the performance particulars. In jazz-rich NYC, that always leads to great and exciting performances!
